The word 'Custom' defines the design and type of grip used for a 1911. Custom grips open a wide range of choices and selections that reflect your taste and style of guns. There aren't many custom 1911 grip manufacturers but the several ones that exist truly give you the best quality and service as well as a wide range of designs and have the ability to truly produce something unique. You can either get them manufactured with your own designs that encompass your initials or a specific logo- this takes quite a while. But if rather not wait and just want a decorative grip, then you can select it from a wide range of designs already available for you at these custom design manufacturers such as grips with flame designs, solid pewter and solid wood, smiley faces, American eagle emblems and other unique designs. It also depends on which grip that truly feels best in you hand. Some prefer smooth textures and go for wood or pewter grips whereas some go rougher grips and prefer a little bit of texture hence they go for more intricate designs and carvings. End the end of the day, it all depends on the aesthetic appeal a gun owner has. Some grips are thicker than others so they might feel too big to someone with a small hand, while those with larger hands would prefer a thicker grip.
There are so many options out there so when selecting a grip, make sure that you like the feel of it as well as the look and designs and finally a grip that will work for you. The 1911 handgun is arguably the most popular handgun on the planet so it's no surprise that it has a large number of 1911 grips available on the market.
